Williamson County Jail

Clothing

Interview with pete, Jake, Billy and Kara

JM: What types of clothes were most common?
pete: Yellow suits
Jake: 2 piece uniforms.
Billy: orange jump suites
Kara: Pants and top issued by County.

JM: Did you have a set uniform? What did it look like?
pete: Yellow
Jake: The only type was green, I think maybe a few brown, scrub like.
Billy: orange
Kara: Yes.

JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned?
pete: No
Jake: Not clothing, blankets without holes were valuable.. I never had one.
Billy: umm not particularly of course the new jump suites or newer ones were of high demand because of less use.
Kara: You have no choices.

JM: Was the clothing different between men and women?
pete: No
Jake: Dunno.. never saw.
Billy: yes the women had black and white stripes and the men orange
Kara: No.

They give you a 2 piece outfit that looks like a nurses uniform but feels like pure starch. They do not give you any undergarments or let you keep yours... but then they give the women maxi pads! No panties maxi pads= NO GOOD!

A woman must have a bra without underwire. Does she have to buy
an extra one from the commissary
as well as the panties which look like depends? Where do we
buy the calling card?
